INDONESIA: Congratulations to TataSolusi Pratama for the second STL system!

The MARGO Mall in Jakarta will be equipped this year with 700 m³ of AC.00 nodules (STL - AC.00 - 700 with a 39 000 kWh / 11 000 RTh capacity). By using our STL ice storage, the consulting engineers and the contractor were able to reduce by 45% the size of the chillers, the cooling towers and all the attached equipment.

4 Screw Brine chiller of 1 442 kW / 410 RT at 7°C/12°C and 957 kW / 272 RT at -5°C/-2.5°C will be used. Operation of this second STL ice storage plant is forecast for October 2005.  

The STL tank shall be vertical cylindrical of 27 m high with a 5.9 m diameter.

Our distributor BYME Ltd has published an interesting article on Thermal Energy Storage in “Building Services Professional” Marc h 2005 issue (see attachment). This article explains why Exhibition Center is a very good application for STL Technology. The STL installed at AsiaWorld-Expo supplies 60% of the peak cooling demand and shifts the production of cooling energy from on-peak to off-peak electrical period. Thanks to the STL, the peak electrical demand is reduced by 60%.
